Sterett Crew Moves Aboard!
Following the successful Bravo Sea Trials in early February, Bath Iron Works formally delivered the proven seaworthy DDG 104 over to the US Navy in a Ship Custody Transfer ceremony held on 29 February 2008. With custody of the ship, the focus could now shift towards building capability and fostering the team work and routines needed to ensure this Arleigh Burke Destroyer is up and running for its scheduled June Sail Away and moving towards full operational readiness. Following Navy tradition, a key milestone was achieved with the crew "Move Aboard" on 25 April - where together DDG 104 sailors met their new ship and began mastering life aboard.
