Commissioning Update
The Commissioning of USS
Sterett DDG 104 is drawing near and the planning has started for the
ship's crew, the City of A ship's commissioning is an expensive undertaking. The ship's CO is provided a limited amount of funding but this is not adequate to cover all the anticipated expenses. The Navy League of Baltimore has taken the lead in helping to organize and plan for the Sterett Commissioning activities.
Many organizations and
individuals are being asked to contribute to the commissioning
event. Most groups and companies that will graciously make donations
to the Sterett Commissioning have little or no relationship to any
USS Sterett, current or previous. Therefore, the Association is requesting our members consider making a contribution to this worthy cause. Even if you cannot attend the commissioning, we ask that you help to support this great event. For the Good of the ShipDisplayed below are the Navy League's official recognition levels for corporate and personal donations. All Association members are asked to donate what they can. Association donors are asked to submit their contributions through our Treasurer, Dennis Dean. * Should there be an excess of contributions they will be given to the USS Constellation sharing the waterfront with the Sterett Commissioning.
